Attending the Races

How can I purchase advance tickets for a particular race?

To purchase your tickets for any of our exciting events, please call or visit the Castrol Raceway office (780) 461-5801 or click here to buy tickets online.

How can I pay for my tickets?

Castrol Raceway accepts Cash, Debit, VISA or MasterCard.

Can I buy passes to get into the pits?

Drag Pits: No need! The Drag Pits at Castrol Raceway are always open – even during the Rocky Mountain Nationals. While in the pit area please be aware of moving vehicles at all times.

Oval Pits: After the races fans may enter the oval pits free of charge and no age restrictions.  Caution is advised while in the pits due to moving vehicles and other hazards.  

To enter the oval pits prior to and during racing entrants must be 14 years of age, purchase a crew/pit pass, and sign the waiver upon entry.  Parental consent is required for anyone under 18 years of age.  This can be done at the Competitor & Crew Entrance gate.

How do I get drivers' autographs?

During intermission at our Nite Thunder races*, drivers will bring their car onto the track so you have the opportunity to meet the driver, get their autograph, take a picture and see their car up-close. *Subject to weather and time constraints.

How soon before a major race/event should I plan on arriving at Castrol Raceway?

Give yourself enough travel time, as well as additional time to stroll about the display areas set up around the facility. The sooner you get to the track on race day, the better. Please expect quite a bit of incoming and outbound traffic before and after the event.

How long will it take me to get home after the race?

Take into consideration the number of people attending the event. Please FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS OF THE PARKING ATTENDANTS, which will aid in getting everyone home quicker.

Can I bring in my own food and beverages to Castrol Raceway?

Food and Beverage are prohibited from being brought into the facility, unless you have a baby or small child. Please provide Gate Security with your request upon arrival at the racetrack. Please note: due to safety reasons, glass containers of any kind are prohibited.

Can I bring alcoholic beverages to Castrol Raceway?

Alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited from being brought into the facility. A bag search is performed by Gate Security, and any alcoholic beverage with be confiscated.

Is there ample parking?

Castrol Raceway provides a considerable parking area on-site. There is also an overflow area for larger events.

Is there Handicap Parking?

There is ample Handicap Parking available along the fence area, closest to the gate for easy access to the facility. Should a person need assistance getting to the grand stand area, please ask any of our friendly staff, and arrangements will be made to drive you to your seat.

Do I have to pay for parking?

FREE parking is always available at Castrol Raceway. During our major events "preferred" parking is available for a nominal fee.

Is Castrol Raceway Wheelchair Accessible?

Castrol Raceway is totally and conveniently Wheelchair Accessible. Assistance is always available to those requiring it.

Are there ATMs at Castrol Raceway?

Yes, once inside the gates there are three ATM machines available. One is located in the Lounge on the second floor of the Drag Tower, another is located on the main concourse next to the coffee shop, and a third is located at the Drag Concession. During Major Events, a fourth is also made available in the coffee shop.

**PLEASE NOTE: Transactions at certain Point of Sale locations once inside the Castrol Raceway gates are cash only.

What can my kids do at Castrol Raceway?

Along with watching the races, we provide a family friendly atmosphere including a huge “kid approved” playground courtesy of the Leduc/Nisku Rotary Club, as well as Russ the Balloon Guy will be on-site at many racing events providing complimentary balloon animals for our race kids.

Do you sell hearing protection?

Yes –Standard earplugs and earmuffs are available at the Castrol Raceway Merchandise trailer and in the Drag Pit Concession.  For custom fit protection Eko Hearing Protection is also on-site for most events throughout the season.

What should I do if I drop something underneath the bleachers?

Should you lose a personal item beneath the bleachers, please notify any one of our staff who will be happy to have someone retrieve it.

If I have a complaint about another spectators behavior who should I contact?

Should you have issues with another spectator, please DO NOT involve yourself personally. Talk to a Security Guard, who will handle any issues that may arise.

Can I get married at a Castrol Raceway event?

Yes, plus we’ll also be happy to host a Birthday Party, Retirement Party, Group Function, Staff Appreciation event, Customer Appreciation event – you name it! Please contact us at: (780) 461-5801 or
