It is no longer just a race.

No, after a decade of competition and extreme thrills the likes of which you won’t find anywhere else in the country, the annual Mopar Rocky Mountain Nitro Jam Nationals presented by Good Vibrations Motorsports has become more of pilgrimage. Drivers, crews and fans travel from all corners of North America to compete in Canada’s biggest drag race and that excitement will continue this season with the 11th annual Rocky Mountain Nationals to be held July 5-7 at legendary Castrol Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta.

And this year’s event promises to be one of the biggest yet

“This is ‘the big one’ when it comes to drag racing and Canada. For over a decade now the IHRA has traveled to Castrol Raceway with a show unlike any other and this year will be no different,” said Aaron Polburn, President of IHRA Motorsports. “Every year we circle this event on the calendar and once again we look forward to traveling to Edmonton with our unique brand of motorsports entertainment and putting on a show that will leave fans speechless.”

The 2013 Mopar Rocky Mountain Nitro Jam Nationals presented by Good Vibrations Motorsports will once again feature a unique lineup of professional and sportsman competition totaling hundreds of racers in over a dozen different classes all spread over three days with Ironman trophies being handed out Saturday and Sunday.

A full field of Canada’s fastest nostalgia Nitro Funny Cars will be on display as three-time defending Rocky Mountain Nationals winner and Edmonton native Tim Boychuk returns in the “Troy Lee Designs” Pontiac to try and defending his AMSOIL Prostalgia Nitro Funny Car title.
